Suffragists, Teetotalers, and Abolitionists: Social Reform in the Nineteenth Century
A Hands-On history workshop for K-12 teachers, museum professionals, and the interested general public. The workshop will feature a lecture and discussion with scholar Thomas Augst and two hands-on sessions in which participants will work directly with original materials from the AAS collections. The newly digitized letters of Abby Kelly Foster will be explored and procedures will be provided on how to access and utilize these primary source documents. The cost of this one-day workshop is $65 for AAS members and K-12 educators and $75 for general admission. Registration includes pre-readings, materials, refreshments, and lunch.
