Originally from Millbury, Selina E. Stockwell (1809-1889) became the wife of one of Worcester’s most prominent citizens. She and Samuel Davis, manufacturer of woolen machinery and a real estate dealer, had three children. Samuel was one of three representatives sent to the General Court when Worcester was incorporated as a city in 1848.
