Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce The Breakfast Club Salute to Abby Kelley Foster November 3, 2011

The Breakfast Club recognized Abby Kelley Foster for her inductions into the National Women’s Hall of Fame and National Abolition Hall of Fame. In a break from protocol, symbolizing this significant achievement and the impact Abby continues to have, Lynne McKenney Lydick was invited to address the attendees, which included 400 area professionals and community leaders. Lynne, in period costume, spoke in Abby’s words as she passionately shared “…our daughters…must enter into business…I talk to them, and urge them to open shops…when woman shall feel it is her duty to do this she will get rights…My friends, I did not rise to make a speech—my life has been my speech. Bloody feet, sisters, bloody feet have worn smooth the path by which you have come up hither.”
